Tom Donald's Trio's debut album covers a very wide range from Herbie Hancock, traditional gospel hymns to the classical voicings of Chopin and Australian composer Colin Spiers. Despite the far reaching variation of styles on this record the trio stay true to their signature sound that is contemplative, thoughtful and often tranquil.

Donald's rare and unique treatment of Hancock's masterpiece "Maiden Voyage" is what he describes as "playing from a blank canvas in an open field, the album in so many ways is based around those few seeds in Maiden Voyage and as the album progresses, the music tells the story of the continued voyage of living".
