Nos qui vivimus – We the living shall bless the Lord. Psalm 113A (Vulgate numbering) or 114 (Hebrew numbering). This Psalm is sung at Vespers on Mondays. It’s set in the “tonus peregrinus”. Unlike all other Gregorian Psalm tones, this one has two different reciting notes. The first line in each verse is set on “La”, and the second line on “Sol”. This tone is said to have derived from the pre-Christian Synagogue liturgy.
